Personal Work

My photography journey is a fusion of passion for personal work projects and a deep commitment to professional work. Don’t get me wrong, I am very passionate about the commercial work I do, but sometimes I have creative ideas that I use to explore new approaches to what I can often apply to my professional work.  I think of it as creative vacations to explore new ways of lighting or doing things I don’t get to do often enough in my commercial photography.  It’s exercise for the brain. 

From exploring the intricate network of exposed roots along river banks to capturing environmental portraits in the vibrant landscapes of China, from embarking on a 30-day portrait project to experimenting with slow shutter speeds to capture the movement of motorcycles or the adrenaline of bull riding at a county fair, I approach each endeavor with equal fervor and dedication. Whether I’m capturing the delicate beauty of ice crystals or the vibrant hues of flowers, every photograph is an opportunity to express my vision and hone my craft. I love the thrill of shooting, immersing myself in the moment, and learning from every experience, whether it’s personal or commissioned.
